I was given the opportunity to assist the VCA 2022 Musical Theatre company and Interactive Composition students in their annual collaborative assessment piece 'Mongrel'.
'Cracked.'
Presented by the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne
Music Theatre and Interactive Composition students collaborate to develop original works that are quick, hilarious, provocative and thoughtful. In our intimate cabaret setting, we invite you to get up close to the future of music theatre, cabaret, and new work.
With nothing but the prompt 'Cracked' to go off, the cohort created 5 equally spectacular and ridiculous storylines, presented in a series of short vignettes.
I had an absolute blast supporting the students of Mongrel 2022 and running the backstage track and ceiling plot for the show. With responsibilities that included dangling and snatching hoops away from the 'Bad Circus', throwing, catching and dropping babies on the 'Moral High Horse', pouring a shower of water onto the 'Bad News Bear', it's safe to say this was my wackiest exploit to date.
