I've teamed up with Ellen Grimshaw to assist in producing their debut solo show GRIM.
Could things get more Grim? Grim hopes not. In a far away upside down Grim world, Grim has data to collect and the Grim people to please, but the Grim people change Every. Three. Minutes. How can Grim please the Grim in Grim fashion when one is NOT Grim? And how can Grim un-Grim the Grim when one IS Grim? It’s Grimmer than Grim, but Grim must be Grim and Grimmer to be loved by the Grim, so Grim can find Grim, but Grim realises they love the Grim and that Grim was Grim 2. The sequel.
GRIM is a brutal, stupid new play that uses satire and absurdity to explore self abandonment, people pleasing, and the ever changing minds of those in control.
GRIM is an alien who gets pushed off their Mum’s spaceship on their way to Data Collection Headquarters in Hollywood, landing prematurely in a Pepsi ad audition in Carlton. GRIM is catapulted through a blender of ad auditions not knowing what’s going on, until receiving communication from Mum in Hollywood to be likeable and do whatever the humans say until the emergency recovery spaceship arrives...but GRIM’s Mum accidentally catches alcoholism in Hollywood, and forgets about GRIM in Carlton.
