About Me

I got my start in theatre volunteering with the Shakespeare on the River Festival in tiny Stratford, Gippsland. From here, I went on to train under both the Monash Uni Student Theatre and Sir Zelman Cohen School of Music & Performance, building a rich portfolio of professional shows as a freelancer whilst completing my Double Degree in Music and Arts (Theatre).

As a recent graduate with experience touring interstate and working across iconic Melbourne venues including Her Majesty's Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne, Melbourne Town Hall and Gasworks Arts Park, I'm ready to continue delivering spectacular entertainment and telling amazing stories full time.

Ethos

In my teams I aim to function as glue if there's a disconnect, WD40 if there's friction, and a catalyst if things grow stagnant.

Providing stage management that is;

- 100% LGBTQIA+ friendly and drag literate

- Disability & neurodivergence conscious and supportive (but still learning)

- Respectful and celebratory of First Nations artists and stories

- Continuously striving for growth in cultural competence and confidence

Living and creating on the lands of  the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation in Naarm.

Check out my episode of 'Whispers in the Wings' with host Joshua Broadbent

Join Josh as he chats with stage manager Caitie Murphy, who swears drag shows are “held together with gaff tape and prayer,” and whose work spans theatre, opera and the glitter-filled world of drag.

Caitie shares her journey from studying music to calling operas and managing the beautiful chaos of drag shows. She opens up about the realities of working in nightlife venues, the importance of safety and boundaries, and how her love of music and theatre collide in unexpected ways.

In this episode, we discuss what it’s like to manage shows that thrive on improvisation, the challenges of working in non-traditional spaces, the overlap between drag and theatre, and how to protect your wellbeing while keeping the show running smoothly.
